Batavia begins construction on a new $15 million, 20,000-sq ft police headquarters, replacing the 167-year-old Brisbane Mansion. The modern facility will be ADA-compliant and include state-of-the-art features for 21st-century policing. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Alva Place, and construction is expected to complete within a year, with a grand opening tentatively planned for 2025.
