Bank of Ghana reported a loss of GH₵10.5bn in 2023 due to increased total interest expenses on open market operations. This loss is an improvement compared to the GH₵60.9bn loss in 2022. The central bank managed excess liquidity and supported disinflation as part of the broader macroeconomic adjustment programme. Total liabilities exceeded total assets by GH₵65.36bn as of December 31, 2023.
