Former ISU student Nicholas Wheeler has been indicted by a federal grand jury for making violent threats and attempting extortion via social media. Wheeler, 27, allegedly threatened Indiana State University, its professors, and two of his former attorneys on March 16 and 17, demanding $500,000 or an investigation into his claims of being a crime victim. If convicted, Wheeler faces up to 20 years in prison.
