Derry Crown Court heard that Jonathan Creswell, charged with the murder of Katie Simpson, exercised "unfettered control on the lives of young women." Creswell was found dead before his trial began. Three women were charged with withholding information related to Simpson's death, pleading guilty to a range of offences that derailed the police investigation. The women believed they were covering up an assault, not a murder.
