The US Department of Labor has sued Hyundai Motor Co, a staffing agency, and a supplier over allegations they employed children under 14 at a manufacturing plant in Alabama. The lawsuit, filed in the Middle District of Alabama, claims the defendants repeatedly violated regulations prohibiting "oppressive child labor" between July 2021 and February 2022. Hyundai has stated it cooperated fully with the Labor Department and will vigorously defend the company.
