Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced plans for a program using AI to accelerate the govt's social and economic transformation, starting next year. Aiming to spread AI across all sectors within 5 years, the program involves the university system, a Digital Transformation Agency focusing on IT & digitalization, and AI clubs in schools. Four new tech-focused universities are considered.
