South Korea's unsold homes increased for the fifth consecutive month in April, fueling concerns about the sluggish real estate market. The number of unsold homes nationwide rose by 10.8% to 71,997, with the capital Seoul and its surrounding area experiencing a 22.4% increase in unsold homes to 14,655. Meanwhile, foreign home ownerships in South Korea grew in the second half of 2023, with 91,453 homes owned by foreign nationals, accounting for 0.48% of all houses in the country.
