Pakistan's Energy Minister Sardar Awais Leghari confirms that power cuts will continue on loss-making feeders to address ongoing challenges in the nation's power sector. The country faces an electricity demand of 25,820MW with only 21,588MW supplied, resulting in a deficit of 4,232MW. Loadshedding primarily affects Category 3-8 feeders, which are deprived of electricity to mitigate further economic strain on Pakistan's economy. The government plans to revamp the system gradually to address the power outages and has directed power distribution companies to improve their performance and minimize loadshedding.
