North Yorkshire Police officer PC Adam Smith has been sacked for driving at excessive speeds of up to 154mph without a policing purpose. Smith, who had previously made a video warning others of the dangers of street racing, was found guilty of gross misconduct and dismissed at a misconduct hearing. Chief Constable Tim Forber said the speeding was "totally unjustifiable" and could "significantly undermine" public confidence in the force.
