Madrid court investigates Gerard Piqué for suspected corruption in Spanish Super Cup deal to Saudi Arabia.
A Madrid court is investigating former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué for suspected corruption in a deal to take the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia. Spanish football federation contracts since 2018, including ones by former president Luis Rubiales, are being probed. The Super Cup contracts with Saudi Arabia, worth 40 million euros annually, were brokered by Piqué's company, Kosmos. The court found "possible illegalities" in the contracts, which included a clause to guarantee a four million euro annual commission to Kosmos.
