35-year-old Kalief Lyons, charged with murder in NJ, has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for an unrelated gun charge. In November 2022, Galloway Township police found a handgun in a vehicle Lyons had occupied, with an illegal large-capacity ammunition magazine and 14 rounds. Lyons awaited sentencing for this charge when he was accused of murdering 38-year-old Baseem Taliaferro in Pleasantville.
