Windsor police and hospitals collaborate on mental health and addiction support through the Nurse-Police Team and Crisis Response Team, funded by the $3.2M Downtown Windsor Revitalization Plan.
Windsor police and hospitals expand partnerships to support mental health and addiction crises, as part of downtown revitalization. The Nurse-Police Team (NPT) program, operating daily from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., pairs officers with nursing professionals to provide proactive healthcare, reducing strain on hospital emergency departments. The Crisis Response Team (CRT), with crisis intervention-trained officers and social workers, also operates seven days a week. The $3.2M Downtown Windsor Revitalization Plan funds these initiatives.
