South Korean court orders SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won to pay nearly $1 billion to his estranged wife, Roh Soh-yeong, as part of their divorce settlement. The Seoul High Court found Chey's shares in holding company SK Inc should be counted as part of the couple's joint property, overturning a lower court ruling from 2022. Shares in SK Inc surged after the ruling due to speculation that Chey would have to purchase more stock to cement his control.
