Senate Veterans Affairs Committee members accuse VA of misusing $11m bonus money for toxic-exposed veterans' health benefits on senior executives.

Members of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, both Democrats and Republicans, have accused the VA of misusing $11m in bonus money meant for workers processing new health benefits for toxic-exposed veterans. The VA's inspector general reported that the funds, allocated under the Pact Act as recruitment incentives for "critical skill" workers, were instead improperly given to senior executives. The senators are demanding more information about the approval of these bonuses.
