The Philippine government's request for the extradition of ousted lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. has passed the first screening by Timor-Leste's Ministry of Justice. The DOJ has endorsed the request to Timor-Leste's Court of Appeals, which will decide whether to deport, extradite, or transfer Teves back to the Philippines. The DOJ expects a decision from the Timor-Leste court by June 20 or earlier.
