Major tech firms, including Meta, Microsoft, AMD and Broadcom, have developed a new industry standard for networking in AI data centers to reduce dependence on market leader Nvidia. The Ultra Accelerator Link (UALink) aims to create an open standard for high-performance, low-latency communications interconnect for next-generation AI accelerators in data centers. Companies involved in the development of UALink include Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel, Meta, and Microsoft.
