42% of Ireland's electricity came from renewable sources in 2023, according to EirGrid's annual report. Despite a 32% revenue increase, EirGrid Group's profit before tax fell to €71.2m due to regulatory timing differences and higher operating costs. The company is set to pay a dividend of €4m to the Government, unchanged from the previous year. EirGrid reported a new maximum peak demand of 5,544MW and increased its System Non-Synchronous Penetration (SNSP) limit to 75%.
