13 people, including 7 women, were injured in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu after funeral firecrackers for K. Saraswathi Ammal's services exploded, causing 10-30% burn injuries. The incident occurred when sparks from crackers ignited a reserve stock. The injured were admitted to Ranipet Hospital's ICU, with District Collector Valarmathi and District Superintendent of Police Kiran Shruthi visiting them.
