8 men charged in connection with Ireland's largest-ever drug haul, a €157m cocaine seizure from a Panamanian cargo ship, have had their cases transferred to the non-jury Special Criminal Court, which deals with terrorism and organised crime-related offences. The drug haul, involving 2.25 tonnes of cocaine, was intercepted off the southeast coast in September 2023. The men, who are from various countries, face drugs and organised crime charges.
