High school track coach Kerry Hood, from Lithia Springs High School in Douglas County, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a student. Allegations of misconduct were made on May 27, with claims the incidents took place both on school grounds and in other states. Hood turned himself in on May 29, and the school district stated he is no longer an employee, cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
