Germany removes mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for military personnel, replacing it with a recommendation.

Germany has removed the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for its military service personnel, initially introduced in November 2021. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has now replaced the mandate with a strong recommendation to get vaccinated. The change comes after recommendations from the Bundeswehr's chief medical officer and a military medical advisory committee.
