China plans to publish a carbon footprint management plan, marking another step in its green drive. The plan aims to rally efforts from various parties, promote international alignment of related rules, strengthen product carbon footprint calculations, and improve property rights protection. Additionally, China targets reducing CO2 emissions in key sectors by 1% of the 2023 national total, and aims to cut total emissions in key areas by about 130 million metric tons in 2024 and 2025, with a 2.5% reduction in energy consumption and a 3.9% reduction in CO2 emissions per unit of GDP in 2024.
