Canada's Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard, Diane Lebouthillier, announced a $400m investment over five years for the modernized Canadian Coast Guard fleet. Budget 2024 also provides $130m over six years to Fisheries and Oceans Canada to tackle marine fuel cost pressures, with $20m ongoing. This investment aims to strengthen the Canadian Coast Guard's capacity and ensure the smooth operation of new vessels.
