Air India Express cabin crew member, Surabhi Khatun from Kolkata, was arrested at Kannur airport for attempting to smuggle 960gm of gold concealed in her body. This is the first case in India where an airline crew member has been apprehended for smuggling gold by concealing it in the rectum. Khatun was intercepted by authorities after arriving from Muscat to Kannur and is currently being held at a women's prison in Kannur.
