Walton was a two-time NBA champion, a two-time NCAA champion at UCLA, and a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee. He was also the NBA MVP in the 1977-78 season and a member of the league's 50th and 75th anniversary teams. NBA commissioner Adam Silver described Walton as "truly one of a kind."
