36-year-old Megan Grieves was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer after her grandmother's concerns about a mole led to multiple GP appointments, and her dead grandmother's awareness saved her life.

36-year-old Megan Grieves attended over 30 GP appointments due to her grandmother's concerns about a mole on her leg. Despite the mole growing to the size of a 10 pence piece over a decade, doctors dismissed it as dry skin and prescribed moisturising creams. Megan was finally referred to a dermatologist at 28 and diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer. She underwent two surgeries to remove the mole and check for cancer spread. Her dead grandmother's awareness saved her life.
