52-year-old lorry driver, Martin Wallbanks, was given a £100 parking fine after collapsing during a hospital appointment at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Wallbanks had paid for three hours of parking for his 40-minute appointment but lost consciousness, requiring extended observation. Despite a supporting email from a nurse, Bank Park Management, which operates the private Hilton Road Car Park, refused to waive the fine.
