29-year-old Daniel Popescu has been jailed for 17 years and four months after stabbing his pregnant ex-partner, Andreea Pintili, five times in Aberfan, near Merthyr Tydfil. Pintili was 37 weeks pregnant with Popescu's child at the time of the attack on December 5th. After the incident, local schools and community centres were locked down as police conducted a manhunt. Popescu pleaded guilty to attempted murder and stalking charges.
