18-year-old Christchurch man charged with dangerous driving after allegedly driving at over double the speed limit in a Holden Commodore on the Southern Motorway, with speeds reaching over 200 km/h. Constable Scott Agnew, who was issuing a ticket at the time, described the speed as "absolutely crazy, idiotic" and warned that the driver was putting other road users at extreme risk. The teenager has had his car impounded and is due to appear in court.
