A woman's body was found in the jaws of an alligator in Clear Lake, Texas on May 28th. Houston police were searching for a missing woman when they discovered the remains along the banks of Horsepen Bayou. An HPD sergeant killed the alligator to prevent further damage to the body. The woman's cause of death has not yet been determined, and an autopsy will be conducted. Fatal alligator attacks are rare in Texas, with the last one occurring in 2015. Houston Police Department homicide investigators have been assigned the case.
