Former FTX executive Ryan Salame sentenced to 90 months in prison for illegal political donations and unlicensed money transmitting business in relation to FTX collapse.
Former FTX executive Ryan Salame has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for his involvement in making illegal political donations and operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business. Salame, part of FTX's inner circle, pleaded guilty last year and cooperated with prosecutors, providing documents that aided their cross-examination of Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX, and his own prosecution. Salame's prison sentence is the first of Sam Bankman-Fried's associates to receive jail time in relation to the 2022 collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange.
