6th beach house collapses in North Carolina's Outer Banks due to erosion and sea level rise.

Another beach house on North Carolina's Outer Banks fell into the Atlantic Ocean on May 28, closing a popular section of beach near the Rodanthe Pier. This marks the sixth house to collapse along the same road in the last four years. The rapid erosion of the 1.8-mile section of beachfront, losing 12 to 20 feet of beachfront each year, has been attributed to relentless storms and sea level rise.
