Saint John's Sophia Recovery Centre, a women's addiction recovery facility, opened a new 3,600-square-foot location in the city's north end. The centre, which has expanded to St. Stephen and Quispamsis, received a $100,000 increase in operational funding from the province. Serving 464 women in 2021, the centre aims to meet growing demand and provide ongoing care for women recovering from addiction.
