40 Oregon wineries and vineyards are suing PacifiCorp for $100m, alleging the utility's decision not to turn off power during the 2020 wildfires contributed to blazes whose smoke and soot damaged their grapes and reduced their harvest and sales. The wineries and vineyards, located in the Willamette Valley, claim PacifiCorp's negligence led to the wildfires that caused significant financial losses.
