National Universities Commission instructs outgoing Federal University VCs to nominate a DVC for temporary leadership, followed by Governing Councils appointing an Acting VC for six months during permanent VC selection.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is instructing outgoing Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of Federal Universities with expiring tenures to nominate a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) recommended by their respective institution's Senate for temporary leadership. Afterwards, the Governing Councils will appoint an Acting VC for a minimum of six months during which they will initiate the process of selecting a permanent VC. This decision aims to prevent administrative vacuums.
