5 million Texans, or one in six people in the state, live or work in flood-prone areas, according to a draft of the state's first-ever flood plan. The Texas Water Development Board aims to reduce the risk for these residents by recommending solutions to protect against floods and rising sea levels. The public can comment on the plan during a meeting on May 30 in Austin and until June 17 online.
