Dutch firm Van Oord secures a contract with RWE to transport and install monopile foundations for the Nordseecluster offshore wind project in Germany, marking the first job for their new offshore installation vessel, Boreas. Scheduled to be completed in 2027, the project will supply renewable energy to 1.6 million households. The Boreas, the largest of its kind, is designed for the installation of next-generation foundations and turbines, and can fully operate on methanol to reduce emissions.
