51-year-old Gala Melendez died after crashing her car into the median on I-10 East near Executive Center Blvd. The El Paso Police Department reported that Melendez was traveling eastbound when she struck the center median for unknown reasons. The Special Traffic Investigations unit is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, which marks the 26th traffic fatality this year.
