An Ohio mother, Tamara Banks, has been sentenced to at least nine years in prison after her 4-year-old diabetic daughter, Karmity, died from a diet primarily consisting of Mountain Dew and formula. The child's father, Christopher Hoeb, also pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and is set to be sentenced in June. Karmity's undiagnosed and untreated diabetes led to her death due to diabetic ketoacidosis. The child suffered from rotten teeth as a result of her diet.
