NSW Labor Government to establish Future Jobs and Investment Authorities for coal regions by 2040.
NSW Labor Government plans to create Future Jobs and Investment Authorities to support coal regions Hunter, Illawarra, Central West, and North West as coal mines and coal-fired power stations close by 2040. Over 125,000 workers directly or indirectly work in coal mining or coal-fired power sectors. The Future Jobs and Investment Advocate will advise the Minister for Natural Resources and lead strategic work with regional authorities.
