Ireland's Agriculture Minister, Charlie McConalogue, has announced a new National Biomethane Strategy, aiming to produce zero-carbon, home-grown gas. Under the plan, farmers will receive additional income by supplying grass and slurry required for biomethane production. McConalogue believes there is a "huge appetite" for the initiative, and a €40 million fund from his department will incentivize early movers and help build critical mass.
