1,000+ G4S jobcentre security guards, represented by the GMB union, are going on strike for a 24-hour period, marking their fourth strike in a dispute over pay. Ninety percent of the guards earn the minimum wage and the GMB claims G4S has received £211m from the DWP since December 2022. G4S has proposed an improved pay offer, but the GMB has rejected it, leading G4S to implement contingency plans for disruption.
