Ghana signs bilateral agreements with Singapore and Sweden for trading sovereign carbon credits.
Ghana has signed bilateral agreements with Singapore and Sweden, enabling the trade of sovereign carbon credits to fulfill climate obligations abroad. These new partnerships will support the adoption of green and low carbon technology solutions, create jobs, and provide social and environmental benefits. The agreements will also allow companies in Singapore to offset up to 5% of their taxable emissions by purchasing carbon credits from Ghana, in line with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
