Chinese court sentenced Bai Tianhui, ex-general manager of China Huarong International Holdings, to death for bribery involving 1.1 billion yuan ($153 million). This marks the second death sentence in years for a senior financial executive as China tightens its financial crime crackdown. Previously, Lai Xiaomin, former Huarong chairman, was executed for bribery in 2021.
