Chicago man Darien Harris, convicted of murder based on testimony from a legally blind witness, is suing the city and police department. Harris was released in December 2021 after The Exoneration Project revealed that the eyewitness had advanced glaucoma and lied about his eyesight issues. Harris filed a federal civil rights lawsuit in April, alleging police fabricated evidence and coerced witnesses into making false statements.
