British Columbia Supreme Court delays murder cases due to sheriff shortage.

A shortage of sheriffs in British Columbia led to the delay of murder and murder conspiracy cases in the B.C. Supreme Court on May 27. Justice Kathleen Ker and a dozen lawyers could not proceed with the cases due to the absence of security personnel. Sheriffs are essential in courtrooms for providing security and transporting prisoners. Despite assurances from the attorney general, the issue persists.
