Australia and the European Union have signed a critical minerals trade agreement aimed at countering China's monopolisation of the critical minerals supply chain. This follows a recent EU Critical Raw Materials Act creation, opening opportunities for Australian mining and manufacturing sectors. The agreement was signed on 28 May and includes six months of "concrete action" plans, including sustainable mining initiatives and increased collaboration between the two regions.
