40-year-old man dies after alleged assault in Knockanure, Co Kerry. Gardaí and emergency services were alerted at around 12:30am and discovered the victim with fatal injuries. A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently detained at a Kerry Garda station. The local coroner has been informed, and the state pathologist's services have been requested. Garda is appealing to the public, particularly road users with camera footage in the vicinity of Knockanure village between 12am and 1am, to come forward.
