WHO Director-General Tedros optimistic about concluding pandemic treaty negotiations among member states.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus remains confident that countries will reach a deal on a pandemic treaty, aiming to establish new rules for responding to future pandemics. The treaty, under negotiation among WHO's 194 member states for over two years, was set to conclude during the May 27-June 1 World Health Assembly in Geneva. Negotiators failed to produce a draft deal for formal approval, but Tedros expressed hope in a common will to get it done.
