49,000 telecom scam suspects were extradited to China from Myanmar since July 2023, according to China's Ministry of Public Security. Since the beginning of 2023, telecom and internet fraud cases in north Myanmar involving Chinese citizens have been high, leading to other criminal acts. Over the last five years, Chinese public security agencies have cracked more than 1.94 million cases of telecom and internet fraud.
